Can't believe it's Christmas again and the new year is just round the corner.  This has been an eventful year and has been a time for personal growth for me as well.

After completing my three month internship in January, I continued working "part-time" with the same design and architectural firm, TR Hamzah and Yeang Design International Sdn Bhd, as an interior designer. The most exciting project that I'm involved in right now is the up-coming aquarium in the new Kuala Lumpur Covention Centre. No, I don't get to design it, but consider myself lucky to be part of the team that help put drawings into reality. The vastness of the entire project helps me appreciate the hardwork that has to be put in to making a dream become reality. I thought about the "Ant Museum" that I desinged in the Foundation year of my college and this aquarium project gives me a chance to live my dream again.

Talking about dreams, I can consider this past year as a year filled with different kinds of dreams. Some of them were sentimental, some spiritual, some were nightmares, some were filled with sweetness I just wish it never ends, while I hope the nightmares will never return! Ironically, it was through tough times that I learn how to rise from the deepest despair and gain a genuine appreciation for the better times.

Some major events would include the passing away of my eldest sister, Thong  Jiu Leng, in July this year, just a week before I left on a 3-week USA visit. (I will make some time to put a memorial page for her in the world wide web.) Second is the fact that I am now living with four sons and a husband. Fei and Su, my two precious daughters are both in BYU-Hawaii pursuing their tertiary education. I was happy to be with them for a couple of days in July this year when I made that 3-week USA trip. Third is my  "part-time" work which takes up many of my waking hours, sometimes it even encroaches into my sleeping hours, the consolation comes in the form of a small monetary returns and also a deeper love for my children. It is a balancing act that requires strength from every muscles in my entire being.

So my dear friends and family out there, I wish you a new year filled with pleasant dream-come-true experiences. But I just want to remind myself and everyone that the best things in life are not bought with money...don't quote me, someone said it before I did and it made an impression on me!

I'll close by sharing with you a favourite song of mine by ABBA:

I Have a Dream

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I値l cross the stream - I have a dream

I have a dream, a fantasy
To help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness still another mile
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I値l cross the stream - I have a dream
I値l cross the stream - I have a dream

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I値l cross the stream - I have a dream
I値l cross the stream - I have a dream

It's been great fun keeping up with all the family members in their growth of different proportions, dimensions and even directions due to their age differences and  varied interests. As for me, I feel I am always still growing with lots more to learn about life and also to do. I get to learn lots from the activities and development of the various family members too. In the past year, I may probably have been more focused than ever in my personal development  and this is on the area of communication in various forms.

I have been active in the Toastmasters club to improve my public speaking skills. I have also spent much time learning more about building websites. Our family websites built to communicate to friends and family through the internet are a result of my learning, encouragement and sharing with them of what I've learnt. I have also finally almost perfected the art of creating multi-media presentations of videos, pictures and sounds on VCDs or DVDs. I used the talent to present as a gift to our friends a Christmas VCD that incorporates our greetings and coverage on some interesting events in the past year such as the dedication of our newly rennovated Church building and other developments in Malaysia.

This time of the year is the most joyful for us as we get to keep in touch with our friends and family members. Do take time to fill our guest book below and tell us a little of where you are and how you're doing? We love to hear from you always.
